1. What is in-home care and what services do you provide?

Canyon Lake Senior Home Care is a Senior In-Home Care Agency, providing non-medical services for seniors in the comfort of their own homes. We are not another national franchise and are locally owned and operated, bonded and insured, and licensed with the State of Texas as a provider of personal care services.

We provide companion and personal care services. Our personal care services are designed to help with those activities of daily living that seniors need help with in order for them to be able to stay at home safely and with dignity. Our care services also include fall prevention, medication and fluids reminders, light housekeeping, bathing assistance, toileting assistance, running errands and more.

2. Are you licensed and regulated by the State of Texas as a home care service agency?

Yes, we are licensed by the State of Texas as a personal care services provider.

3. Where do you provide services?

Our immediate service area is the greater Canyon Lake region including all towns located immediately around Canyon Lake and portions of Spring Branch, Bulverde, and New Braunfels.

4. Do you offer hourly, overnight, and live-in services?

Canyon Lake Senior Home Care is dedicated to matching your needs with the right caregiver and provides a detailed individual service plan in order to meet your specific needs. We provide In-Home Care services from a few hours a day to 24-hour care, seven days a week and multiple shift care. Whatever your needs may be; we are here for you Day/Night/Weekend/Overnights/Holidays and Respite for family caretakers.

5. Are background checks conducted on all caregivers?

Our clients and their families can have peace of mind knowing that we provide caregivers with the experience and personalities that ensure stability and personal attention, while providing the highest quality of care. We require all our caregivers to have a clean criminal background, a valid driver’s license, proof of their auto insurance, good work ethic, a professional attitude, understanding, compassion, and patience.

Our caregivers are provided the knowledge and training to meet all of your needs. We can assure you that we will not put anyone in your home as a Caregiver whom we would not trust to care for our own family members. To ensure the best on-going care for your loved one, our management team makes scheduled and unscheduled visits to the client’s home while the caregiver is present to evaluate the quality of care, and to make sure the level of assistance provided offers the correct safety measures.

6. What type of information is available to the client and his/her family concerning the care they are receiving?

All client care information is available to be reviewed by the client and by any family member to whom the client has designated.

7. Do you schedule the same caregiver for each visit?

Our goal is to establish a long-term caregiving relationship with your loved one. Should your family want to request another caregiver for any reason, we’ll search for a match until your family is happy. We understand that a strong rapport and trust with a caregiver is vital to a successful home care experience.

If your loved one receives care for many hours in a day or at different times of the day throughout the week, it may be necessary to schedule more than one caregiver in a given week. If your family requires multiple caregivers, our goal is the same: we want you to be satisfied and happy. We’ll do what it takes to make sure we achieve that goal.

8. Do I need to sign a contract for the services my loved one receives?

You can change the number of hours or type of service we provide to your loved one. We understand the care situation can quickly change, so we’re as flexible as possible with your loved one’s care. Plus, you’re never bound to a long-term contract, so you can discontinue your relationship with Canyon Lake Senior Home Care at your discretion although we do request two weeks prior notice.

9. What are the costs and who pays for your home care services?

Every family member we serve receives an Individual Service Plan specific to their needs and budget. Several factors help determine the exact cost:

Number of hours of care per week
Level of home care services received

Our home care services are typically billed on an hourly basis. This makes it easy to make an Individual Service Plan for you. To discuss the exact rates for the services you may need, please contact our office. We’ll set up a free in-home consultation to begin discussing an Individual Service Plan and the rates for each service on your plan.

We provide a written rate sheet prior to initiating care services. Rates will never be increased without prior written notification. Unless otherwise designated, we invoice the client or their designee directly for our services.

Medicare does provide an Eligibility Tool to see if your family qualifies, but they typically don’t pay for the type of hourly personal care service that Canyon Lake Senior Home Care provides. We will provide documentation to third parties such as long-term care insurance companies that could help you obtain the best coverage possible.

We will work with reimbursement programs like the Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit, which is a benefit paid in addition to the monthly pension paid to Veterans and surviving spouses who require our services.

10. Will I have a choice of who comes to my home?

Yes. We encourage your involvement in the decision-making process. With our screening and selection system, you can be assured that we will do our best to take the guesswork out of matching the right caregiver to you and your family. However, you must be satisfied. We will try to accommodate any requests you may have for a change in caregivers.
