Veterans Administration Personal Care Programs
Canyon Lake Senior Home Care pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially giving thanks to living veterans who serve or have served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
In doing so, we also want to make you aware of three personal care programs for Veterans and their spouses who need assistance with activities of daily living.
- VA Respite Program: allows for 30 visits per year up to 6 hours per visit – http://www.va.gov/geriatrics/guide/longtermcare/respite_care.asp
- VA Homebound Program: allows for 5 visits per week but a maximum of 2 hours per visit – https://www.va.gov/GERIATRICS/Guide/LongTermCare/Homemaker_and_Home_Health_Aide_Care.asp
- VA Aid & Attendance Pension Benefit: Pension benefit for qualifying Veterans and their Surviving Spouses and allows up to 25 hours of care per week – all year. – https://www.benefits.va.gov/pension/aid_attendance_housebound.asp
While Canyon Lake Senior Home Care does not offer any of these programs directly; we want to be a resource for all of our brave and beloved veterans and their spouses by letting them know what additional benefits may be available to them through the VA.
